Hasan Salaam has served as the Host of the American Beatbox Championships for 4 years.

Hasan is an emcee, educator, and community organizer from New Jersey.

Hasan’s music paints vivid pictures of the commonalities that bind us: struggle, love, and pain. It’s this ability, to touch people at their core, which has garnered Hasan Salaam a loyal fan base all over the world.

Hasan has performed live on national TV stations such as NBC, FUSE, CSPAN, and PBS. His music videos have been featured by MTV UK, FUSE, Music Choice, and Video Music Box. In addition, he has been featured in numerous major media publications such as The Source Magazine, The Village Voice and The Washington Post.

2012 market the release of Hasan Salaam’s “Music Is My Weapon,” album. The concept was that music can be used as a powerful tool in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality. With the release of the project, Hasan aimed to prove that music can change people’s lives, literally. All profits from the sale of the EP were used towards his “It Takes A Village” project and successfully funded a school, clean water well, and medical clinic in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa.

In addition to his musical successes, Hasan has remained dedicated to his work in the community. He continues to work with troubled youth, and helps run a monthly food and clothing drive in Jersey City, N.J. Hasan has taught “The Socio-Political Importance of Black Music in American Society”, a self created lecture, at universities across the country. He also speaks regularly at conferences and discussion panels, to help bring awareness to vital social issues.

In addition to his community work, Hasan Salaam has ventured into the adult industry, as a master fetish trainer and sex educator. Hasan believes that sexual expression is artistic expression. His work includes speaking at shelters – specifically to abused women – and helping them reintroduce sensuality back in their lives. Hasan is a Sexpert blogger for a sexual wellness and novelty website, and recently founded his own, Sensual Noire Jet Setting Jasmine.

After touring with Brother Ali and Immortal Technique, Hasan Salaam was signed to Viper Records, where he is gearing to release his most an=cipated project to date, “Life in Black and White”. The album is set to be released in the Summer of 2014. This year also marks the opening of his first fitness studio, Body Altitudes, in Florida. Hasan Salaam has come a long way in a short time. However, his goal remains the same, “to be a voice for the voiceless.”
